VTT (Finland)

VTT is a leading European research and innovation partner in microelectronics and quantum technology. Supported by around 250 in-house experts and the largest R&D cleanroom infrastructure in the Nordic countries, VTT offers comprehensive R&D&I services spanning design, prototyping, and pilot manufacturing. Its focus lies on pioneering technologies such as integrated RD and antenna solutions, photonics, MEMS, and post-CMOS integration. Additionally, VTT's Micronova facility, with its extensive infrastructure, serves as the central hub for the Finnish electronics industry ecosystem, supporting public and jointly funded research, applied research, commercial research projects, and contract pilot manufacturing services.

Joint Technology Development by VTT and Fraunhofer ENAS, IMS, IPMS & IZM

Within the APECS pilot line, VTT collaborates with Fraunhofer ENAS, Fraunhofer IMS, Fraunhofer IPMS and Fraunhofer IZM to advance developments in heterogeneous integration. Key focus areas include wafer-level and LTCC packaging for RF (6G) and optical applications, alongside developing innovative, high aspect ratio TSV and TGV processes on silicon and glass substrates. The goal of this joint technology project is to deliver scalable, high-frequency modules for next-generation communication.
